Privacy Notice
Last updated: September 15, 2026.
This Privacy Notice explains how Solast.io handles information when you visit the website or choose to submit information through a third-party form. Solast.io is an independent project operated by its author. Privacy questions may be sent to curator@solast.io.
1. Information Processed to Provide the Website
The website is hosted on Vercel. Like other hosting platforms, Vercel processes ordinary network and technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site. This may include an IP address, requested URL, date and time, browser or user-agent information, response status, and security or diagnostic logs.
Solast.io does not offer visitor accounts, accept payments, sell personal information, or use information for behavioral advertising.
2. Cookie-Free Analytics
Solast.io uses Umami Cloud to understand aggregate site use and improve the project. The analytics setup does not use cookies and is not configured to ask for a visitor's name, email address, or other direct identifier. It may process page paths, referrers, general browser, operating-system and device information, country-level location, campaign parameters, and technical request information needed to provide the service.
Earth Pulse interaction analytics use limited categories such as story type, magnitude band, capability mode, and whether an explanation was completed. They do not include earthquake event IDs, coordinates, place names, timestamps, exact magnitude or depth, story text, or the contents of the Field Journal.
3. Error and Performance Monitoring
Solast.io uses a browser Sentry SDK connected to GlitchTip to identify technical failures and performance problems. When monitoring is active, it may process the page URL, browser or device information, error messages, stack traces, timing information, and ordinary connection metadata. Solast.io filters known noise and does not intentionally place form answers, Field Journal contents, Earth Pulse story text, database credentials, or server secrets in browser error reports.
4. Fonts
Pages request IBM Plex Mono and Public Sans from Google Fonts. The browser therefore connects to Google to request the font stylesheet and files, which exposes ordinary connection information such as the IP address, user agent, and requested resources to that provider.
5. Voluntary Forms
The Field Journal page loads a Tally widget for the optional Propose Location form. Model pages with a Mnemosyne Protocol section load Tally for the optional memory-record form. Loading either widget involves an ordinary network request to Tally. If you open or submit a form, Tally processes the answers and other information you choose to provide.
Solast.io sends the current page path and any utm_source, utm_medium, or utm_campaign parameters supplied in the page URL. The full page URL is not sent through the form's sourcePage field. The Mnemosyne form also receives the displayed model name, a completed-scroll marker, and a fixed source label so the submission can be associated with the page where it was opened.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information through these forms. Form submission is voluntary and is separate from the browser-local Field Journal.
6. Browser-Local Field Journal
Field Journal progress is stored in your browser's local storage. Its saved model list and progress are not sent to Solast.io. Clearing site data, using a private browsing session, or changing browsers or devices may remove or isolate that local information. Export and import actions operate on a file that you control.
7. Earth Pulse and AI Processing
Earth Pulse uses public earthquake records and related source material to prepare educational explanations. Visitor browsing data, analytics data, voluntary form answers, and Field Journal contents are not supplied to the AI language model as story evidence.
8. Service Providers and Retention
Solast.io uses Vercel for hosting, Umami Cloud for analytics, GlitchTip with the Sentry browser SDK for error monitoring, Google Fonts for web fonts, and Tally for the optional form. These providers process information under their own infrastructure, account settings, retention practices, and privacy terms. Information may be processed in countries other than your own.
Retention periods are controlled by each provider's policies and the available account settings. They differ by service and may change. You may contact curator@solast.io to ask about the current settings relevant to Solast.io.
9. Your Choices and Requests
You may block optional analytics, monitoring, fonts, or form resources through browser or network controls, although this may affect presentation or diagnostics. You can avoid providing form information by not opening or submitting the optional form, and you can remove Field Journal data through your browser's site-data controls.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. To ask a privacy question or make a request concerning information controlled by Solast.io, contact curator@solast.io. Some technical information may be held by a service provider rather than directly by Solast.io.
10. Changes to This Notice
This Notice may be updated when the website, its providers, or its data practices change. The version published on this page is the current version.
